We were really happy with our stay, and the staff were warm and helpful. The location is the big draw, right in the heart of Firenze and great for exploring, with very good value too. My daughter and I would happily come back. Just don't expect a luxury five-star place.

We eventually got our money back from the travel agency, but only as a goodwill gesture. The hotel never refunded the agency, and it ignored their calls and mine, even though the concierge had emailed agreeing to return the cost of our stay. We left the hotel believing the refund would come through on time after discussing it in person with the receptionist and by phone with the agency. The trouble started that night. At around 11 pm, we found several bedbugs crawling on the pillows. Nobody was at the hotel, our messages went unanswered, and the phone number rang inside the hotel office. We had to find and pay for another place, then move at 1 am after the travel agent wasn't able to help. Getting there had already been irritating. Check-in was listed as 3-6 pm, so we left Bologna early and arrived on time, only to learn by email as we reached Florence that the key had been left at reception. The lights barely worked, and there was a floor lamp in the shower that seemed unsafe. When we returned the next morning, the concierge apologized, claimed every hotel in Florence had bedbugs, and offered another room. We asked for a refund instead, and he agreed. The low price isn't worth the stress if anything goes wrong.

The worst night I've ever had in a hotel. The bed was infested with bedbugs, the room lighting was awful, the TV didn't work, and there were no towels or soap. The air conditioning was useless and made the room hot, while the noise was unbearable. The building itself was dark and gloomy and smelled bad inside. Its elevator only goes up, so you have to use the stairs to get down. I feel like I was robbed and wasted my money. This place is horrible, and the app shouldn't offer it.

The rooms are a little dated, as you'd expect at this price, but I still found it worth it. It's a budget hotel in a great central spot, so I'd recommend it if that's what you're after. We checked the room and bed carefully and didn't find any insects.
