The breakfast was generous, with lots of fruit, yoghurt, poultry and baked goods, and there's a small lounge with a little library for reading. The owner and her daughter run the hotel and were extremely friendly. They explained the area and planned a walking tour of Florence starting from the hotel for us. Our room was huge, airy, bright and well kept, and you can choose between the ground floor and the two top floors. They also let us leave our luggage in a cloakroom for free and collect it later. The station is a 15-minute walk away, with several routes, while the Duomo, Florence's liveliest spot, is about 12 minutes away on foot along the river. We stayed one day and night, and would definitely come back if we visit Florence again.

The rooms are beautiful, quirky and unique, and there's great art throughout the hotel. The hosts were wonderful, and it's conveniently located for both the train station and Florence's main sights. We highly recommend it.

The owners and their family make you feel cared for, and they somehow make you love Florence and their home, too. The Albion is the reason we keep returning to the city, even after staying in so many other places. They keep updating things, and impeccable service is simply their standard. We'll be back for our fifth visit in 15 years this September. Make it part of your trip.

I wasn't staying at the hotel, just at a nearby Airbnb. The copy shops in firenze were closed, so I went in and offered the receptionist 5 euros to print one page of a voucher. He was sitting and reading, and didn't seem busy, but immediately spoke to me rudely and asked where I was staying. After I told him, he bluntly refused to help and told us to leave. The staff at the diplomat Hotel were very friendly and printed my documents instead. I found no kindness or willingness to help here, just a sad, angry old man. I definitely won't book this hotel.

It's a bit of an older hotel, and that's part of its charm. The people who work there and own it are amazing and treat you like family. It's the only hotel I'll stay at in florence.
