Hotel Giappone

We ended up moving to another nearby hotel that cost less and had an elevator. When we asked about adding a night, the price on the apps went up before they agreed, which put us off. The location was good, about a ten-minute walk to the train station and the main sights. Our room was clean and comfortable, though the cleaning could have been better. There’s no elevator and the rooms are on the fifth floor. The front desk was often unattended, so we had to find the cleaning staff around the rooms when we needed something.

The main drawback was how thin the walls were. At night, when everything was quiet, a neighbor showering could keep you awake. There’s no elevator either, so luggage has to go up the stairs. I stayed alone in the single room on the third floor of a historic building, about 200 m from the Duomo and the river in the old part of town. The host was a wonderful lady, and the central location made me comfortable walking around even later at night. The room looked much nicer than the photos, with its own shower and washbasin. The shared toilet was clean and wasn’t a problem. There was a kettle and tea in the room, plus a coffee machine just outside.

The rooms were lovely and very clean, with modern bathrooms, in a pretty little hotel right in the city center. The stairs are long and steep and there’s no elevator. Also, for some reason the TV has to be on to get WiFi.

We found the staff kind, the rooms very clean, and the private bathroom incredible. The location is ideal, about a five-minute walk to both the train station and the city center. There’s no elevator, which didn’t bother us, but could be challenging for someone with mobility difficulties.
