HNN Luxury Suites

This is one floor of a building, sharing reception and the breakfast room with the Hotel Nouvo Nord next door. There's no luxury here: my two large rooms had a bed in one and a bed-sofa in the other, two televisions and very little furniture. The bathroom was excellent, and everything was clean. Breakfast was meagre.

We slept better here than we had since leaving home. We stayed in the presidential suite, where the old-world charm was preserved and the modern touches were tastefully done. The air conditioning was so effective we were freezing even after running it only a short time. The hotel is centrally located, not far from the main train station in Genova. Breakfast service was amazing, and everyone from the front desk onward was kind and helpful. We can see why it has such a high rating, and couldn't recommend it more.

We'd booked two nights after our Mediterranean cruise, but my wife and daughter both got sick aboard the ship. Our travel insurance asked us to stay in Genoa until they felt better, and the hotel helped us add four more nights during peak season. The room was nice and clean.

We were five guests who booked two suites at HNN Luxury Suite, via balbi,29, 16126, Genova, for July 21-23, 2025. We arrived at 9:00 PM and were given rooms 404 and 402 on the fourth floor. In room 402, I sat on the bed for under two minutes before feeling a sharp insect bite on my knee. I saw a small insect crawling on the bed and took clear photos. The bite quickly turned red and swollen, and I still have visible marks and irritation documented in photos. We reported it straight away. A staff member came with us to the room as we explained what happened, showed the bite and insect, and shared the pictures. The manager laughed and accused us of making up the evidence instead of showing concern or helping. He raised his voice at me in front of guests and staff, spoke disrespectfully and degradingly, and behaved in a way I experienced as discriminatory. His aggressive tone and body language felt intimidating. I felt humiliated, exposed and unsafe, and as a woman, vulnerable and frightened. After that, I was so distressed that I couldn't imagine spending another night there or feel physically or emotionally safe. We were told to either accept the room or leave the hotel. Despite the photos and what had happened, the manager wouldn't take us seriously and made us leave without a refund or compensation. Being bitten in bed and then ridiculed and intimidated by management caused public humiliation and psychological distress. To me, it showed a failure of hospitality and basic human decency.
