Albert Hotel

I expected the area near a major station to be less appealing, as it often is in European cities, but this hotel was a nice surprise. It was clean, had good equipment and was reasonably priced. It’s still near a big station, so it suits you if transport access matters more than staying in the nicest neighborhood.

The staff were incredibly kind, and breakfast had both sweet and savory choices. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and bathroom. The central train station is less than a five-minute walk away.

The place felt like stepping back in time. It was clean and comfortable, though we wished there were coffee or tea, or at least a kettle, in the room. The hair dryer looked straight out of the 80s or 90s. Centrale is very close, but parts of the area can feel a little unsafe. Also, the Chinese restaurant next door is a must-try!

The staff were friendly and the location is great for the price, though there were some shady characters right outside. Nobody bothered me, but I wouldn’t bring kids or call it family-friendly. The bathroom is tiny. I’m about 5'11" and 145 pounds, and the shower felt really cramped. It’s not a four-star hotel, but you get a lot for what you pay.
