Hotel Arco Romana

By mistake, I booked two rooms and asked right away to cancel one, but the hotel refused without a reasonable explanation. I was charged for the second room and wasn't even given its key. I consider that shameful and dishonest, and I want management to hear about it. The room was dirty, with unchanged sheets and towels and no toilet paper. Basic hygiene was ignored. Reception staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, making things harder and treating us badly. This was a terrible experience. The hotel doesn't deserve even one star, and I strongly don't recommend it.

When we arrived, the building was under construction. Reception was open 24 hours, and the staff were pleasant, with good personal attention. Our room had a small fridge, a TV, and good air conditioning. Rooms with a terrace are better. You can only pay in cash, and the elevator is very small. Overall, it was a nice place.

I spent three nights here and definitely wouldn't recommend it. The hotel is on the top floor of an apartment building, which I guess explains why so many rooms are in the attic. My attic room had no windows, though the photos showed a room with a balcony and three windows. When I objected, they refused to move me. The bathroom was so narrow that my head hit the sloping ceiling while I showered. The staff didn't speak English, so communication was impossible.

The breakfast was tasty, though you have to ask for it, and I'd still rather eat at one of the shops around here. The rooms are nice and big, and everything looked pretty clean and well maintained. Pokémon GO players will find two PokéStops at the hotel and a spawn location.
