Hotel Talblick

Skiing every day was the main reason for our Christmas week at Hotel Talblick in Ortisei, from December 25th to 31st this year. I took a ski course while the rest of my family skied on their own, and the logistics couldn’t have been easier. Two bus lines stop right outside, the private shuttle ran during its advertised hours and was reliable whenever we needed it, and there was no stress about getting to the lifts or managing transfers. The garage kept our car protected and made coming and going easy. We also made good use of the heated boot room, organized ski and snowshoe storage, and the spa after skiing. The town centre was close enough to enjoy, too. Our Deluxe Suite was beautiful, roomy, and tastefully finished, with wood and exposed stone giving it a cozy modern alpine feel. It was bright by day and warmly lit at night. We liked having a little private garden with chairs and a table, plus a proper living area with a sofa and coffee table. The TV swivels 180° between the lounge and sleeping area. The double bed was very comfortable, and the large bathroom had everything we needed, including a frosted-glass open-style shower and a window. Storage was plentiful, with big wardrobes, a safe, organized spaces, and lots of mirrors. There’s also a separate bunk-bed and desk area with good lighting and reading lights. Three thermostats let us set different zones, and the underfloor heating, thick walls and doors, and shutters and curtains kept the suite warm, dark, and quiet. We slept really well. We loved the food and drinks. Dinner menus were posted in the morning, and the staff were happy to make small changes when asked. The dishes were carefully prepared and presented, and the menu descriptions reflected that care. Dinner service was attentive, professional, and warm. Our waitress was especially friendly and charming, making us feel at home every evening. After dinner, the lounge was a cozy place to sit. The candle lit on each table every evening was a small touch that made the Christmas atmosphere feel special. From the relaxing, quiet suite to the thoughtful setup for winter sports, the whole stay felt warm and memorable.
