From the suite, we could see the Colosseum at the end of the cobbled street. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and despite being on busy Via Cavour, the place was well protected and quiet enough for sleeping. There’s a restaurant downstairs, La Base, whose kitchen stays open until 3.00 am. The host Giancarlo and maintenance Charlie were both helpful, and you can WhatsApp before you arrive. The area is close to just about anywhere, with a bus stop only a few meters away. Monti is also nearby for a good breakfast or evening entertainment. Highly recommend.

We were travelling with our 10-year-old son, and Giancarlo went out of his way to make sure the room was comfortable for us. He was very kind. The room itself was spacious and really clean, close to the coliseum but away from a lot of noise. Highly recommended.

The location is good, but I was disappointed with the room. It was really tiny, and from the moment we arrived the washroom smelled of sewage, which made it unpleasant. The internet kept dropping and was so poor that I had trouble logging in to my class. I’ve attached a photo showing the bad connection. I can’t exactly post a photo of the smelly washroom. After such a terrible experience, I asked for compensation. Why wouldn’t I? What I got didn’t meet expectations, and what was provided wasn’t what had been offered.

It’s a small, lovely hotel in a central part of Rome. There are only four rooms, and it’s on a main street in a lively area, so expect some noise at night. The metro and a bus stop are right in front, and there are plenty of restaurants, convenience stores, souvenir shops, and, best of all, gelato. Many attractions are walkable from here.

A nice weekend in Rome ended on a really sour note. A few hours after we got home, the hotel sent us an upsetting WhatsApp message, claiming we’d damaged a wooden slat in the central hall and broken the Wi-Fi router. We were told we should have known about the damage. They said there were camera recordings but refused to show them. They also claimed we were the only guests to check out, even though the hotel itself said Room 1 was occupied. Those guests could access the shared areas too, so they might just as well have been responsible. Before leaving, we’d paid the tourist tax in cash in the room as requested and sent photos showing the key back in its original place. The hotel then sent a link to an expensive router on Amazon for €138.07, a different model from the one they said was broken, plus a payment link for €168, almost €30 more than the Amazon price. If we had broken something, we’d take responsibility and pay for it. But we didn’t break anything, and there’s no proof that we did. It feels like they’re trying to pin extra costs on us. Very disappointing. For us, never again.
