The area felt unsafe, especially at night, as it is multicultural. The place is far from the city center, and the subway doesn’t work, the green line is under construction. Outside, there’s a lot of noise, with very loud neighbors and frequent arguments and disturbances even at night. Inside, the room feels outdated, and the dark colors make it uncomfortable for a pleasant stay. The bed is hard and squeaks whenever you turn, and the linens were stained when we arrived. The shower doesn’t provide steady hot water. There’s no proper storage for our things, and the barred windows look out onto garbage when you want some fresh air.

It was a pleasant stay, though I missed having mosquito netting. Breakfast could have had more variety too. What they served wasn’t enough for me, so I had to go out and buy more food. I’m an average-sized adult, not someone who eats huge amounts.

We’d booked a month ahead for two nights, but after driving 600 km the next day, we were turned away because the owner had apparently booked the room for someone else two days earlier. It was a huge inconvenience and left us really disappointed. The place itself is clean and welcoming, and we’d been there often, which made the whole thing even more frustrating.

Malatesta metro station is just two minutes away, and Termini is about ten minutes from there, so getting around Rome was easy even though the accommodation is outside the center. The rooms were clean and had what we needed, and breakfast had both sweet and savory options. Eva and Domenico are fantastic. We’ll come back.
