The only real plus is the location, about five minutes from Roma Termini and a 20 minute walk to the Colosseum. There are better hotels nearby. I can't understand how this place got 3 stars. We skipped our second night and moved to a nearby four star hotel, and the difference was night and day. Please look at other options in this area. I don't mind staying in older or dated places, and I've taken a chance on hotels with mixed reviews before, but this choice was a mistake. The building seemed like a construction site and shares an elevator with two other hotels. Reception is on the first floor, and some staff were rude when we went to collect our key. The old, rattly elevator barely fits one traveler, let alone someone with luggage, and has a 200kg weight limit. Our rooms were on the fifth floor, more than 100 steps up a decaying, dated building where chunks of wall were missing. The room itself was small and old, which wasn't the issue. Exposed wires in the shower felt unsafe, and it leaked out onto the walls. The mattresses were comfortable, but their bases wobbled enough to feel like they might tip if you breathed the wrong way. We could hear every movement outside the door. The doors use a key, and we felt so unsafe because of the location that we left the key in the door after locking it.

There was hardly any breakfast choice, and the ladies might come over and tell you not to take too much. If supplies are running low, they should be better prepared. The beds weren't great either, and there was only one wastebasket.

The staff were very nice, and the place is well located near everything you need. For the price, it was well worth it. The lobby is on the first floor, while our room was on the third, and thankfully there was a small elevator. The newly renovated room was very clean, with a fridge, safe and TV. The bathroom was also very clean and had all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was okay, though not the best. WiFi is free but quite choppy. I think it depends on the time and how many devices are connected.

Avoid this place. I was charged an extra 10 euro for a room with air conditioning, a fee that wasn't mentioned when I booked through Expedia, so I've complained to them. The rooms are dated and very basic, and the establishment is shoddy.

The room was modern and comfortable, with several USB chargers, and the staff were friendly. It's well placed, a five minute walk from the main train station and the Hop on hop off buses. Breakfast was good but simple. The shower took about two minutes to warm up, then was perfect after a long day walking around Rome. There was no insect mesh on the windows, though, so you have to run the air conditioning or put up with Roman mosquitoes.
