Morgane Residences

It was our first visit to Rome, and we found the rooms clean and supplied with what we needed. The staff were very friendly, spoke several languages, and were quick to help. Breakfast was simple but plenty for us. I'd definitely recommend it as a good-value hotel.

Transport is a big plus here, with the airport train and metro nearby. It can feel like a poor area at night, so it's better if you aren't coming back too late. There are a few decent restaurants not far away, but no restaurant or bar in the hotel. The buffet breakfast was good and so were the staff. The elevators are small. Our room was fine, though the bath and shower drain in room 539 needs clearing so it drains properly.

We chose this hotel because it was beside Termini for a quick one-night stay in Rome. When we arrived at 11 pm to check in, we were only then told our room had a leak. They'd booked us into The Inn at Spanish Steps, a 15-minute drive away. That threw off our plan for the next morning, when we meant to walk all our luggage to Termini. The only compensation they offered was free breakfast at the replacement hotel. We got settled there after midnight, only to find it had no hot water.

The location is excellent, right by the main station, with two metro lines close at hand. One goes toward the Spanish Steps and Vatican, while the other heads for the Colosseum and Forums, so getting around is quick. The staff were helpful and friendly. The area gets a bit dark at night, but I never felt unsafe. The rooms feel dated, and the air conditioning didn't work very well. I'd recommend staying here, though maybe not in the hottest part of summer unless the AC is upgraded.
