Tovimar Apartments

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst places I’ve stayed. The apartment looked nothing like the description or photos, and when we commented on how run-down it was, the owner replied, “This is lowcost.” A few details about what we found: the listing says ToviMar Apartments, but the apartment is actually a few meters away at a different street number. The elevator photo is misleading, since the entrance to La Scogliera apartment opens straight onto the street. The rooms also aren’t as bright as the pictures suggest. Neither has an outside window. The downstairs room has two skylights, one opening toward the bathroom and one toward the hallway, while the upstairs room has no window at all. It isn’t two bedrooms plus a living room and patio, either. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom, hallway, and kitchen. You could call the kitchen area a balcony, patio, living room, or kitchen, depending on how you look at it. There was a strong smell of damp, mold, and humidity, so I wouldn’t consider it suitable for people with allergies. The apartment isn’t soundproof, and the plastic windows are fitted with silicone that’s visible in the evening. We also found a lot of worn, dirty, or broken things: a used dirty dish sponge; pots that mostly weren’t suitable for an induction stove; a broken shower hose holder; mold in the shower, which can’t be closed; a dirty towel on the floor; a bathroom light switch that was sealed over; a loose toilet seat; stains on the bed linen, chair cushions, and towels; silverfish everywhere; and a dead cockroach or cicada in the kitchen. For parking, the owner recommends a paid lot advertised at €20, but it actually costs another €20 per day and another €20 per night. Its gate closes at 7 PM and opens at 8 AM. I’d suggest moving the car to the cable car parking lot at 6 PM, when spaces start to open up. Parking there is free from midnight to 8 AM; at other times it costs about €20 a day.
