Hotel Adriatico

The staff were exceptional, polite, and kind. They went out of their way to let us check in early and leave our bags at checkout. We’d definitely come back. The location is great, close to the train station, Cannaregio, and lovely walks to Rialto and Marco. The room wasn’t large, but manageable for two, and having a kettle for morning coffee was handy. There was a mould stain in the bathroom and an unpleasant smell in the room, so perhaps a wall air freshener would help. I also like that you try to save water by washing laundry only when needed. Maybe ceramic cups in the room and bathroom could avoid wasting paper and plastic cups, just an idea.

Nothing fancy, but the location is good and close to the train station. The room was clean, the staff were nice, and the Wi-Fi was fast.

The restaurants nearby are very good, and vaporetto stops are close as well. It’s also perfectly placed for the train station and connections to Marco Polo airport. Our stay at the Adriatico was great, with good service and daily room cleaning. For such a reasonable price, we couldn’t ask for more. Rooms near the front of the hotel by the breakfast area might get noisy in the evening and morning, though we usually slept through it. We’d definitely stay again.

The location is great if you need a base and don’t plan to spend much time in the room. It’s an easy walk from the train station without crossing any canal bridges, with plenty of shops and restaurants around. The hotel was fairly quiet, the air conditioning was nice to have, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. The room was small and not very clean, with dirt in the corners and under the table. The bathroom was the worst part: small and functional, but it absolutely reeked of mould. There were heavy black stains along the grout, in the door crevices, and on the ceiling. The smell was strong enough to seem like an ongoing problem. Mould usually doesn’t bother me, but this was overpowering. We ran the undersized exhaust fan continuously, but it made no difference. We were satisfied with the low price we paid, but if we’d planned to relax in the room, we would have been disappointed.
