We’re here on a business trip with colleagues, and the lack of the air conditioning we were promised is appalling, even though the location itself is beautiful. Without wifi, we also haven’t been able to work comfortably or get our goals done. We paid for breakfast in our reservation, but there hasn’t been any.

We arrived at the Arsenal stop from Venice airport and walked about 5-10 minutes to the hotel. San Marco, with all its bustle, atmosphere, and nearby sights, is around 20 minutes away. Our last-minute deal was hard to fault: the rooms were very clean and spacious, and having our own breakfast host and sharing the floor with the other guests made the stay fairly peaceful and pleasant. The breakfast choices could have been better.

The staff were accommodating, and our room was clean and spacious. The location is especially handy if you’re going to the Venice Biennale, with views over the lagoon and San Giorgio Maggiore.

We went in November and had a lovely stay. Our room was very quiet, with no noise from other guests or elsewhere, and it was clean. Breakfast and coffee were very good, and the host was pleasant and really helpful. We booked a lagoon view and got exactly that. The area feels peaceful, with plenty of transport nearby and San Marco centre very close.

Remember that you’ll need to carry your luggage up the stairs to the third floor. Once there, the breakfast was generous and good, though the coffee service had a problem: no cappuccino. Via Garibaldi’s bars and restaurants are just a few steps away over one bridge. Vaporetto 4.1 gets you to Arsenale, only 150m from La Rosa dei Venti. You’ll need a door code, so ask for it ahead of time.
