Residenza Hotel San Maurizio

The location was a big plus. We could walk to all the major sights easily at any hour, and going early helped us miss some crowds. The room was spacious and clean, with daily room service, though the furniture felt old and a little musty, like an antique store, but still had some charm. This was one of the cheaper places in Venice, and you could tell. Our mini-fridge didn't work, and we had no hot water on the last night, without any warning. We heard people outside now and then, but that's part of being in the city. We stayed three nights in March and were pleased overall. If you want an affordable place and aren't expecting premium comfort, it'll serve you fine.

So cute and aesthetic, the rooms are gorgeous, total princess diaries vibes. Perfect location too, everything we wanted was under 15 minutes away on foot, and most places took 7-8 minutes. The coded entry and locks made it feel super secure. It made our Venice trip 100% more magical.

The rooms are cleaned every day, and the bedding and towels were clean. We had air conditioning and a TV too. But the hotel and rooms have needed renovation for a long time. Being close to Venice's main attractions is its only real plus for me. Would I return? Probably not.

The staff were pleasant and very polite, and service was there for us all the way, even before we arrived and while we were travelling. The location is really good, with cafes, food, and shops for drinks just outside. Everything was perfect, better than we'd imagined.
