Hotel Rinka Hakone Gora Resort

The room's hot spring ran a little hot, but adding cold water made it easy to settle in for a relaxing soak. We stayed with our two Chihuahuas and felt that a lot of thought had gone into making the hotel work well for dogs. Their yukatas were adorable, and being able to give them any leftover food the next morning was great. At check-in they took a photo of our dogs, and seeing them pop up on monitors around the hotel was really entertaining. The owner's kindness toward them came through the whole stay. We had such a good time that we were keen to check in on time and make the most of every moment, even if the dog attractions seemed full. We'd definitely come back. 😊🐶✨️

Spending a full 24 hours with my beloved dog was the best time of my life, and I know I'll never forget it. We went everywhere together, even to dinner and the baths, and into the changing room. After being picked up at 2pm, we had photo shoots, a dog run, a dog foot bath, an oxygen capsule, and photos projected around the hotel. The hospitality was perfect in every way. Thank you so much to everyone at Guam Dog for taking such good care of my dog. I was so moved I cried.

Tamuning, the German Shepherd, was lively and so cute. With its location in Gora Onsen, welcoming service, and the fact that they apparently have many rescue dogs, I can see the price being acceptable for a special occasion, even if it isn't exactly cheap. I'd like to come back for one. The hot spring water, with its five pastel colors in Gora, seemed unbeatable for quality, especially compared with nearby luxury dog-friendly inns. It's also close to Owakudani. Service was top-notch, and I was happy to take free beer back to my room. The meals are generous, so tastes may vary. I especially loved the kinpira gobo, it was incredibly good. Breakfast was Western style, though a Japanese option might have been nice.

The owner and staff were all so friendly and polite, and I'd really like to return. Right after check-in they took a photo of my dog, then displayed it all around the inn. They laminated a copy for me to keep, and it's on display at home now. Such a lovely memory. Thank you very much!
