Guest House COCO Hiroshima - Hostel, Caters to Women

There’s a roomy communal area to relax in, and I’d stay again for the convenient location alone. Hiroshima Station is just a three-minute walk away. The dorm is women-only, clean, safe, cozy, very affordable, and set up in a shoebox style. The 16-bed hostel has two bathrooms, two showers, and two wash basins. Nothing fancy, but it has the essentials. You can rent towels and robes from the coupon machine near reception, and each guest gets one free coffee or tea a day. Two Asian grocery stores are right across the street, which is handy if you like cooking or need Southeast Asian ingredients. Great for a short stay in Hiroshima.

It’s a simple place to sleep about five minutes from Hiroshima station. The shared area is nicely set up, and I liked having storage and a locker at the back of the bed for small personal things. Beds are a good size, but there’s no air conditioning inside them, and the curtains don’t block light very well, though you can’t see through them. Towels and other amenities cost extra to rent, and there are only two showers and two toilets for guests. I also found it a little odd that there wasn’t a second lock after the entrance.

Tea and coffee are free in the common room, and there are hair dryers, irons, and complimentary hair and skin care products. The showers have shampoo and conditioner, but bring your own towel and toothbrush and toothpaste or you’ll be charged to use theirs. I’m usually not into hostels or capsule hotels, but this was the most spacious, clean, and comfortable one I’ve been to. The beds were comfortable and clean, and I didn’t hit my head on the ceiling like I have elsewhere. The owner introduced herself and was kind and helpful. I checked in late, after 7:30-8pm, and they helped me by phone. I’d consider staying again if I return to Hiroshima.

Coco’s is cozy and nicely decorated, and it’s only about a five-minute walk from Hiroshima station. I’m really glad I stayed there for four nights. I enjoyed it a lot.
