Horikawa Hostel

We were five traveling with backpacks, and the clean place had just the right amount of space. It’s very close to the train station.

The kids were delighted by the bunk beds, and having detergent provided for the washing machine was a real help. We’d made a last-minute decision to go somewhere, looked around for an inexpensive stay, and booked this for our family of five. The first-floor bar was extremely loud and irritating. The sound carried all the way up to the third floor. I’d say this place suits people who can handle noise late at night.

For a family of five, the price was a big help, and being right in the city made it easy to walk out for meals. The place was clean and the kids loved the bunk beds. Then, in the middle of the night, thumping bass and rock singing started downstairs and jolted us awake. It calmed down after about an hour, but everyone was up, and the noise was really irritating. Without that, it would have been perfect.

There’s no permanent staff, but the room is kept very clean and the hospitality is excellent. The high-end Panasonic drum washer lets you wash and dry clothes right in your room overnight, which was a huge help.
