Estate Tokyu Nishikyogoku

The railway station isn’t close, but this place made that easy to overlook. It felt like a home away from home for our family, with breakfast supplies and late night snacks stocked at reception. The staff were happy to suggest places and itineraries, and even called in a food delivery for us.

The staff’s kindness stayed with me most. My daughter left her phone in a taxi, and the hotel helped us contact the police and taxi companies. After we returned to the USA, I found out Kyoto police had the phone but required someone to collect it in person. I knew nobody in Kyoto, so I emailed the hotel. They picked it up the next day and shipped it to our address in the USA. I’m still not sure how to thank them. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained, and the location is close to many Kyoto attractions. Our room had a kitchen with an oven, refrigerator, plates, and utensils. Eggs, butter, jelly, bread, tea, and coffee were available in the lobby. I’m from the USA and don’t speak Japanese, but the owner and staff treated us with real respect and did everything they could to help. Great hotel, great people.

A nice fit for a family or group. You can help yourself to as much bread, milk, eggs, and instant noodles as you want, and the manager is so nice.
