Our room was surprisingly spacious, though we forgot to take photos. Getting there after a long flight was easy: we took the airport shuttle from Kansai Airport, and the Umeda route stops a short walk from Hearton Hotel Nishiumeda. Staff at the stop were very helpful with our luggage, so we didn't have to drag our suitcases through train stations and up stairs. Osaka Station and Umeda Station are both an easy walk away, making this a convenient base for Osaka's famous attractions or even a day trip to Kyoto. I highly recommend it for a stay in Osaka.

You're really close to Osaka Station, practically in the next building. The bed is a standard double, and unlike our Kyoto hotel, Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Hachijoguchi, it wasn't uncomfortably small. The room had a wall mirror and a small mirror stand on the desk, plus a dark-colored bookshelf painting on the wall. The TV didn't have CNN. Breakfast costs 1980 Yen and was a little crowded. Don't miss the hot, fresh croissant, Japanese omelet, and takoyaki. The dollar pancakes come fresh from a machine. I didn't care for the thin orange juice with no pulp or the oddly tasting cafe latte. For Dotonbori Street, reception suggested the red line from Umeda station. I suggest taking the Number 8 bus instead, from the bus station by the taxi stand in front of Osaka Station. The basement coin laundry is cheaper than in Tokyo, but our clothes came out damp. Only the right-hand elevator goes to that floor. Reception said they could look up a massage parlour but wouldn't book it for us. They agreed to translate, but the phone call didn't connect, so we booked the in-house massage therapist instead. The therapist arrived three minutes early. It wasn't an oil massage, the pressure was strong, and the therapist didn't speak English. I think there's an ice machine, vending machine, and water dispenser on every floor. The nearest convenience store is 7-11 in the Breeze Breeze shopping mall, but it closes at 11pm with the mall. You can choose between the red line at Umeda and the blue line at Nishi Umeda Stations.

I slept soundly despite the hotel being next to the train station, since my room didn't face the tracks. The room was larger than a regular business hotel room, the bathtub was long enough, and I loved the buckwheat pillows. The location is extremely convenient for all the train lines and the airport limousine bus. The one thing missing is free rental of hair straighteners.

This was great value, with clean, neat rooms of a reasonable size and pleasant staff who provided excellent service. The hotel is centrally located, with shopping, transport, and places to eat all around. There are two subway stations nearby, and one connects by underground walkway to the hotel basement. Plenty of places to eat are within a short walk, as are the two big department stores Daimaru & Umeda. A wonderful experience in the city.

We arrived as a group of eight at 10:00 AM on February 18, 2026, and asked for early check-in. We understood the rooms wouldn't be ready until 2:00 PM. A male receptionist, about 40 years old, took all eight passports and wrote down our room assignments before we left our luggage at the hotel. When we came back at 8:00 PM for the keys, that same staff member asked us for all the passports and room-sharing details again. Some family members were still out, so I offered the passports of those present first and said the others could show theirs later. He became visibly impatient and abruptly refused, saying it was "hotel policy." I offered again to provide what we had, but he wouldn't cooperate. When I reminded him he'd already collected the information that morning, he ignored my questions and snapped "No, no, no" repeatedly in a hostile manner. I was deeply disappointed by this unprofessional front desk service. I've always held Japanese hospitality, or Omotenashi, in high regard, but this dismissive and rude behavior completely ruined the mood of our vacation. Guests shouldn't be treated with such impatience and a lack of basic courtesy. I won't return or recommend this hotel. I hope management looks into what happened and improves staff service standards so other guests don't have the same experience.
