Keihan Kyobashi Grande Hotel

Staying right in the station made it easy to get around, with local restaurants and Don Quijote nearby. We booked a superior double, which was a little roomier than the standard rooms, and the staff were friendly and helped ship our luggage. The free amenities were good too. I'd skip the hotel's laundry machines. They're small and slow, and the clothes still aren't fully dry unless you run another two or three cycles. Walking to a nearby coin laundry is a better option.

I left my jacket in the room after checkout and called the hotel within an hour. Staff kept saying they couldn't find it, which was frustrating and hard to believe given how quickly I contacted them. They were unfriendly and unhelpful, with no apparent interest in resolving the problem or concern for guests' belongings. The service felt unprofessional and showed very little customer care. I expected better hospitality from a hotel in Japan, and based on this experience I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The breakfast was mostly Japanese washoku and tasted superb. The room wasn't very spacious, but it was comfortable enough. I had a rat problem on my first night, and the staff didn't seem convinced at first, though they still called an exterminator. They believed me after one of them saw another mouse's tail coming down from the ceiling, and they compensated us by moving us to another room. Afterward, I felt some staff were giving us side-eye, though I hope that was just my imagination. The place may suit you if you're out and about a lot during the day. I'd bring small luggage if you stay here.

There are plenty of restaurants and food options nearby, and the rooms are a typical size, clean, and nicely decorated. You do hear trains passing on the tracks next to the hotel, but after a while I hardly noticed the noise. The hotel is above Kyobashi Station and next to the JR Osaka Loop. The lobby is on the 7th floor, so you don't see staff much unless you need something. When I did, they were friendly and happy to help. The coin laundry was handy too, about 500 yen to wash around 6 kg.
