The listing photos didn’t match the accommodation, and I ended up leaving right away and paying for somewhere else after booking through Agoda. The place was dusty, the hob was marked, and the electrical plugs were taped while some light fittings were loose, which raised safety concerns. The sofa wasn’t the one shown and was in poor shape. Towels, bedding, and pillows were badly worn, and the mattress was uncomfortable and too springy, with pillows that were almost flat. The lighting was dim and uneven. The shower was so small that, at 6'1", I couldn’t fit comfortably. I contacted the host immediately, but they denied a refund and only said the room had been cleaned, ignoring the other problems. I escalated it to Agoda and my payment provider, but despite not staying there at all and explaining what happened, I got no refund or compensation. It was a waste of time and money, and completely unacceptable. Be cautious about booking: the photos don’t show the reality, and you may not get support or a fair resolution if something goes wrong.
