Hotel Shiki Utsubo Park

The adjoining Japanese restaurant is well worth trying. We had a really enjoyable four-night stay at Hotel Shiki Utsubo Park, with courteous, welcoming staff throughout. It’s in a quiet, safe area, and the subway is close enough to make getting into the city center easy.

There’s a nice park nearby for morning walks, and the kids had a great time at the playground. The hotel is away from the city bustle, but getting to the sights is easy, with two subway lines a short walk away and bus stops right outside. Our room was spacious and the service was excellent.

The room didn’t have the kitchen that the booking said came with the suite. The staff were kind and helped me find a solution. I also couldn’t use the balcony, despite its lovely view of the garden and playing fields, because it was for emergencies only. Check-in time was enforced strictly: my room was ready when I arrived early, but I still had to wait. That seems common at Japanese hotels, so plan your arrival accordingly. The staff were exceptionally courteous and professional, and the quiet atmosphere made it easy to relax. The station is a six-minute walk away, and the location is still quite central for getting around Osaka. It’s also easy to reach the upcoming Expo 2025 without changing trains. The main city center and lively areas are a bit far, which may or may not suit your plans. A large supermarket is just four minutes away on foot.

Having a big park right at the doorstep was a lovely perk, and getting to the tourist areas was convenient. The staff were incredibly polite and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We stayed on level 9 and can vouch for room 901. The room size and facilities are great compared with most Japanese hotels.
