Miyako City Osaka Hommachi Hotel

Our corner room had two balconies, and one wrapped around the corner with a great city view. Inside, it was lovely, with a large bathtub and shower, comfy beds, plenty of outlets, and a Panasonic’s Nanoe purifier that kept the room pleasant and free of odors. The hotel is a few blocks from the subway, with shops and restaurants nearby. Staff were friendly and accommodating. There's a lounge where you can enjoy the view and help yourself to free coffee, tea, and other drinks.

I stayed for five nights and was so taken with this place that I almost want to keep it to myself. The balcony was a treat, especially since you don't often find one in Tokyo/Osaka where space is precious. The room was clean and super comfortable, and I could easily adjust the aircon. The bathroom was huge, and a shower there after a day out felt like a real treat. I also enjoyed getting oolong tea every day from the free drinks bar in reception. It's in a business district with lots of restaurants around, a 24-hour supermarket right next door, and easy connections to busy areas like shinsaibashi. I was very happy with my stay and will return to the hotel when I'm in Osaka again. It gave me a lovely memory, and I'll recommend it to family and friends. A couple of things could be better. A no-shoe sign in the room would reassure guests that people haven't walked on the carpet in outside shoes. I know the buffet breakfast is Chinese-style, but a fully Japanese-style breakfast could be a nice experience for international guests.

A big supermarket is only a five-minute walk away. It had reasonably priced local ready-to-eat food, snacks, and skincare, with Tax Free for tourists. The hotel is also within walking distance of Shinsaibashi and near the subway, with restaurants, cafés, and shops around. It's a convenient choice if you want to stay away from the tourist center area. This was our first stay at this city hotel, for four nights after a Kyoto trip, and we'd happily return to Osaka and stay here again. We had a comfortable Superior Hollywood Twin Room, though opening large suitcases made it feel tight. The bathroom was a highlight, spacious, with a large tub and separate shower. The lobby felt cozy and roomy, and had free-flow non-alcoholic drinks all day, plus a self-service laundry and microwave. Luggage storage was especially thoughtful and well organized. The shared drinking water dispensers on each floor were a minus, as were the thin, rough towels, including the foot towel.

The neighborhood felt cozy, and we could walk to the heart of everything in about 20 minutes. The location worked so well for us. The hotel was immaculate, and our room had all the little details thought through. We appreciated the complimentary tea, coffee, and soft drinks at reception, and they helped us out with adaptors, umberellas, an iron, and anything else we needee. I'd absolutely stay again.
