Mitsui Garden Hotel Sendai

At Mitsui Garden Hotel Sendai, Mr. Yuka at the front desk took such good care of me. I had left my vest on a bus, with my wallet and camera inside. He was patient and attentive throughout, keeping me updated as things progressed. He contacted the bus company and arranged for the vest to be sent to the hotel, then made a special arrangement for the hotel to receive and safely hold the package, even though that isn't their usual practice. His thoughtfulness made me feel genuinely cared for.

The hotel felt very clean, and the staff were genuinely warm and kind to our daughter. They even gave her a gift. We also appreciated the location near the train station. I think they were trying hard to give guests a good experience as they were going through a reopening. My only real criticism is the room was tiny, especially with our suitcases in it. Since other hotels cost much more for the same thing, we were still grateful for our stay.

The best part was being so close to the main shopping street. The walk from Hirosedori station was decent, though not the closest. Mitsui Garden had modern rooms with a large TV that was great for watching Netflix at night, plus a nice public bath. I had a great stay.

Barolo, the Italian restaurant in the lobby, served quality food with excellent service. Yuka welcomed us at reception on the 7th floor and was kind and professional. Mitsui Garden Hotel is well placed for exploring Sendai, about a 10 minutes’ walk from the station. Why it's called “Garden” is a bit of a mystery, since it's a high-rise in the city center, but there we are.
