Sento Otani Hotel

I was glad this fairly old, inexpensive hotel was available, since its low price compared with most Kinosaki hotels and ryokans let me visit the lovely city. The room was small but seemed clean, though there was a strong tobacco smell. I could also hear my neighbors talking very clearly. They put a Wi-Fi router in my room, so the connection worked well, and they provided a traditional yukata for visiting the many onsens in town. The walk to them takes about ten minutes. It's fine for young travelers or solo visitors who don't mind those drawbacks.

It's an old, basic hotel, and the owners speak very little English, so be prepared for that. Still, it has what you need for a one-night stay.

The furnishings are a bit old, but that was clear when booking and didn't bother us. The real issue is that although you can book a non-smoking room, there aren't any. The corridors and rooms both smelled of smoke, so I wouldn't recommend staying here if you need a non-smoking room.
