Riad Soumia

After making it past the noisy streets, motorbikes, and pushy sellers, it was such a relief to return to the peace and quiet here. The location makes it easy to walk to most major attractions and some amazing restaurants. The hotel stays quiet and peaceful despite the medina outside, and the rooms were clean and comfortable, with a modern, quirky style that may not suit everyone. The bathrooms are effectively open plan, so anyone in the room can hear your “business.” The staff are what make this place special. They’re always cheerful and helpful, and Mourad in particular is an absolute star. If everyone in hospitality were like him, the world would be a much better place. I’d highly recommend this Riad for the location and especially the staff.

A warm, friendly, clean place to stay close to the medina. The riad is well placed for walking to the main sightseeing areas, and we felt very welcome thanks to the kind staff. Mohammed Amine deserves special thanks for his hospitality, help with the parking fees, and breakfast. Thanks as well to Mourad for being so welcoming.

We happened upon Riad Houma and were blown away by how kind the manager was. They offered us tea, and the hospitality made for a truly amazing experience.

The staff were very friendly, and the riad was clean and well located. The bathroom was lovely too, with warm water that flowed properly. But the architecture of Riad Houma didn’t work for us, and we wouldn’t stay again. Our room had just one window, looking onto the small covered courtyard. We couldn’t really open it, especially with the dining and reception area right outside the door. The room felt stuffy and smelled extremely damp, which was unpleasant.
