Hotel Alkabir

The nightly price, location, and hotel staff were good, but that was about it. The room was old, which on its own wasn't an issue, but it was neglected, with various broken things and visible mold in the toilet. The shower had hot water but hardly any pressure. At night, the elevator made a horrible metal grinding sound whenever someone used it, and it woke me up.

The worst part of checking in on 03/01 at 9pm was the receptionist's attitude. He was grumpy and unkind, and with only a couple of days left in Morocco, his rudeness spoiled part of my vacation. I needed an adapter. The other hotels had lent me one for free, but he wouldn't help and kept telling me to buy one. He also didn't give me the WiFi password at check-in. I called, but couldn't make out how he pronounced two symbols, so he told me to come to the front desk. When I asked, he came upstairs to show me the password. There was no hair dryer, and they didn't provide water either. It felt like the staff didn't want to serve customers. Then at midnight, on 03/02 00:47AM, that same front desk guy called and told me I should replace the dollars for the city tax with dh. Insane!!!

The sitting room was my favorite, with a mix of modern and traditional style, and the property was even more beautiful than I had imagined. It was extremely clean, and the kitchen had everything needed, including a kettle, stove, and cooking pans. There are two swimming pools and lots of harmless furr babies 😍. It's also very close to all the activities you'd want to go to. I'd recommend booking this apartment, especially if you want some time to relax.

The hotel was simple and budget friendly, and both the place and rooms were kept clean. We had air conditioning and a TV in the room. The location was handy too, around 20-30 minutes from the Medina, with bus stops along the main road after a 5-10 minute walk. The cracked bathtub wasn't a big issue. More surprising, they didn't provide water in the room, so we got our own. There was also a small city tax to pay if it wasn't included in the booking. For two people staying four nights, I paid 80dhs in total.
