Hôtel Résidence Amalou

The location is the real strength. It's within walking distance of everything, has free parking, and a clean, private pool that's shaded, which I liked. There's also a small cafe downstairs with decent prices. They don't do laundry, but a laundromat is a one minute walk away. Reception was very friendly and accommodating, and they'd help if something wasn't right. The suite had a balcony and two rooms, which suited me traveling with kids. It's reasonably clean but very outdated. Breakfast was poor, and I didn't like it enough to keep eating it for the rest of my stay. It's a good three star hotel, though I've seen much better. You get what you pay for, so don't expect more. I'd come back. I'd rate the service and location five, though the hotel itself is a three.

Everything else was good, but the service was awful and there weren't enough blankets.

The hotel was bad and so was the service. I felt no respect from reception, especially from the men. When I asked about the air conditioning, they didn't help. The toilet, taps, and shower were broken, and the price was very high. I wouldn't recommend it. There are many hotels on the same road for half the price.

As part of our G Adventures trip, we had a serious problem when a faulty shower head flooded our room. We tried to clean it up, but staff wouldn't give us even one extra towel. They insisted the allowance was only two towels a day, dismissed our explanation that the shower caused the flooding, and gave us no more towels. The lack of care and poor customer service was unlike anything we'd experienced on our travels. Our stay was extremely disappointing, and I hope G Adventures reconsiders working with this hotel.
