N12 Chennaoui house

Ilias and Ismael were amazing during our two-night stay. They were really friendly and helped with anything we needed. The breakfast was delicious, and there’s a pretty terrace on the roof. I’d definitely recommend it.

I didn’t stay here myself, but a friend did. Jimmy and his team were very welcoming and friendly, and shared lots of useful, honest tips and information about Morocco. The place is on the Medina’s main street. I’d recommend staying there, or even just knocking on their door for a chat.

We paid for a room with a private bathroom but were given a shared one. The owner blamed Booking, though I’m sure he did it on purpose. He said he’d move us to another room, but it was dirty and the toilet smelled awful. When we complained, he offered a lower price and asked us to tell Booking we hadn’t gone. We accepted, unfortunately, but the discount was ridiculous. The next day, we heard him ask another couple to do the same, so we assumed this happens a lot and that he avoids paying taxes. He also offered to print our plane tickets, then charged us 5 euros for five copies. I really couldn’t recommend this place less.

We stayed two nights, went away, then came back for another two. When our tour guide cancelled, Jimmy immediately booked another tour for us and let us leave our bags at the house while we were away. The staff were all lovely and treated us like family. One unpleasant thing: a cat pooped in our shower and it smelled really bad. That’s not the staff’s fault, but maybe don’t let the cat into your room!
