Riad Dar Dounia

We loved having breakfast on the roof terrace each morning, with every little detail taken care of. The terrace was lovely during the day and in the evening, too. Our room had amazing antique furniture. Riad Dar Dounia is perfectly placed for walking to the souks and exploring the medina. We felt so warmly welcomed, and it was the best experience we’ve had in a place to stay. I’d recommend it.

We’ve only just come back from Riad Dar Dounia, and already want another visit. The place is beautiful, with comfortable rooms and common areas, but the first-class staff service is what really makes it stand out. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, and Abdel and Maroud spoiled us. They anticipated what we needed and worked tirelessly to make the stay amazing. Breakfast was delicious, especially served in the rooftop terrace dining area. We’ll definitely be back as soon as we can.

Yahia, Mohammed and Mourad made our first visit to Marrakech feel easy and welcoming. They arranged the airport ride, met us by the taxi and walked us to the riad, where we were welcomed with mint tea and Moroccan biscuits. They also gave us local SIM cards, added us to a WhatsApp group for questions while we were out, and shared a paper map with helpful tips, including which ATMs avoid commission. They even walked us to the Souk entrance on our first outing. When we mentioned a small shower tap problem one morning, it had been fixed by the time we got back that afternoon. We loved our three-night stay in December 2025. Riad Dar Dounia is a peaceful spot in the old town, about a three-minute walk from the Souk edge and close to the Photography Museum and Madrasa Ben Youssef. The place is lovely, with green trees and traditional furnishings, and it was very clean and well finished. Our room had air conditioning and a heater, plus a heated towel rail that was especially nice in December. The shower was great, and shampoo, shower gel and a hair dryer were provided. We enjoyed the vegetarian breakfast and dinner, served either on the roof terrace or in the cosy dining room with its log fire. There was bottled water and mint tea throughout our stay. We'd happily recommend this riad. Thanks to the team for a wonderful holiday!

Breakfast beside the water was a lovely way to start the day, and the rooftop was great for sunbathing. Our room was excellent, and Dar as a whole has been put together with so much charm. Mourad and the rest of the staff were caring and quick to help with whatever we needed, including detailed directions for parking and restaurants. One of the most memorable places I've stayed.
