Riad Mama has a colorful design full of cultural character, and the location is excellent: shops and activities are nearby, with the main square only a few minutes away. The staff were friendly and clearly tried to make us comfortable. We stayed three nights and had a pleasant visit, but several things could be better. Breakfast was limited and unsatisfying, especially the very poor coffee. The shower had just two small toiletry dispensers, with no clear indication of which was shampoo or conditioner, and neither lathered. The beds had no mattress toppers, just a thin sheet over the mattress, which felt uncomfortable and unhygienic. Towels were changed only on request, and the room wasn’t cleaned daily, which felt below what the nightly rate should include. On our departure day, we had to wake the receptionist to check out, and the takeaway breakfast we’d requested the day before hadn’t been prepared.

Breakfast on the terrace was lovely, with food ranging from eggs and fresh local breads to fruit and yogurt, plus tea or coffee and often freshly squeezed orange juice. Riad Mama also arranged reliable airport transfers and taxis during our stay, and even printed our boarding passes. We stayed four nights and had a spacious, very clean superior deluxe room, with daily cleaning and fresh towels. The riad feels like a welcoming home. We were offered Moroccan tea as soon as we arrived, and the warm, kind hospitality made us happy to stay again. It’s right by the main square, souks, and terrace restaurants, yet inside it’s a calm break from all the bustle. There isn’t a conventional pool or bar, but we didn’t miss them. Thanks for a wonderful stay, Riad Mama! 🥰

The location puts you very close to the main square and central landmarks, and the riad is spotless, with thoughtful decoration and a real feel for art in every corner. The staff were the best part for me: kind, professional, easy to reach, and keen to make the stay better. They really seem to love hospitality. My reservation is about the room size. The rooms and bathrooms are quite small unless you book a deluxe one, and I found that frustrating given the fairly high price compared with other riads. The rest was perfect, though, and makes the price understandable.

Ayoub was a fantastic host, and the location is just perfect. We stayed three nights. The rooftop was great and breakfast on the terrace was decent, but the room was small and the bathroom way too small. It looked better in the pictures than it did in reality.

Dinner on the rooftop at sunset was such a good setting, and the tagine was easily the best we tried in Marrakech, including at both pricier and more affordable restaurants. Before we arrived, a frequent Marrakech visitor told us he only stays at Riad Mama because its tagine beats the restaurants. My partner and I completely agree now. The staff were lovely, the rooms clean and beautiful, and the chefs’ food was incredible. Breakfast is a small, sweet traditional spread, with things like pancakes with honey, fruit, and cakes. We brought our own drinks up to the rooftop for dinner. Big thanks to Abdul, Abdel, and Monaim for being such kind hosts, and to the chefs and cleaners. We had a brilliant visit and highly recommend it.
