Kinza and her team made our trip feel magical. Saeeda and Oulaya even brought me couscous and mint tea on the terrace when I was cold, and Saeeda cleaned our muddy shoes without being asked. Kinza also came out when she was getting ready for bed to show us the way to a hammam. We left feeling like we had gained a family. The riad was lovely and very clean, with the rooms cleaned every day, even though the old furniture and decor might make you think otherwise. It’s about a seven minute walk from the main square, with plenty nearby. The narrow lanes did feel a bit scary at first because mopeds pass so close and fast, though we learned to watch out for them. I wouldn’t pick this location with young children. One thing to know: after the taxi left us outside the arch, where cars can’t go, a porter came to guide us to the riad and asked for 40dh. We’d already prepaid our agency and thought he was with them, but it turned out the hotel asks porters to guide guests and expects guests to pay. We paid. Despite the little flaws, we loved our stay and would recommend Riad Sacr.

The beds were the one real downside for me. They felt very hard, and I had a genuinely tough time falling asleep. Otherwise, I loved Sacr. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful, and the traditional furniture and decor give the place a gorgeous, authentic feel.

The air conditioning worked so well that our room stayed at a lovely temperature, and I slept really well. I’ve paid much more at other places in this sort of area and had air conditioning that wasn’t half as good. Our room was delightful, and we were greeted with such a warm, smiling welcome. The owner gave us a town map and explained places to visit, then shared a guide to the local area. It felt like sincere advice to help us enjoy our short stay, not a bid for praise or a tip. Everyone running the riad was lovely and happy to help with anything. I’ve never written a review for a hotel or Moroccan riad before, but I felt strongly enough about this place to say how much we enjoyed it. I’d gladly recommend it, and expect you’ll be well looked after. Thanks for reading my long-winded message.

The manager and staff were such kind, amazing people. They were always helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. I’ve just returned from five nights at Riad Sacr on my Marrakesh holiday, and it was excellent. I’d love to come back and would strongly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Marrakesh.
