Finding it was part of the fun, the map pin was about 500m off, which I suppose is normal in Marrakech. The stay itself was another story. We were told we’d booked a twin room. I showed the booking confirmation, which the staff member seemed very uncomfortable reading, and he apologized and said he’d get it ready. Half an hour later we got a room with two singles pushed together under one blanket, and even the sheets weren’t fitted. It was a cold evening, but the heater didn’t work. They said it needed to warm up; an hour later they handed us the air conditioner remote, and we had to clean mold out of the unit ourselves. We’d booked because the room was supposed to have a washing machine. It didn’t. They offered laundry for an extra fee, which we agreed to, then said it wouldn’t be ready until the following afternoon. There were also moldy bath mats, dried urine on the toilet seat, a clogged shower drain, and no key for the front door. They refused card payment even though the card machine was clearly at reception. The English was very poor despite being advertised as fluent. They wouldn’t give us a map, charged us 10mad/1€ extra, and there was no minibar despite the listing. Breakfast was poor, with a stale croissant, and there was exposed sharp metal in the dark room. Buyer beware.
