Rose Aqua Park Hotel

The spa was the standout for us. It was excellent, and we went twice during our three-night stay. Hicham from the concierge team was another highlight. When my wife fell ill, he was kind, professional and went out of his way to help. He made a difficult situation much easier and left a lasting impression. The location was convenient enough, about a £5 taxi ride to the Medina or a 40-minute walk, without being right in the middle of the crowds. The all-inclusive food and drinks were basic and didn’t offer much choice, especially over three nights. There’s room for improvement, but the spa and Hicham’s service made the stay memorable.

The decor was lovely, and the hotel made it easy to get to the interesting sights around Marrakesh and the airport. The entertainment team were friendly and great with kids. Younes made a real effort to help my son feel special and have fun. There was a good choice of food each day, and the staff were helpful. We had a great experience.

We arrived at night from an excursion at 10:15 PM and needed sealed bottled water for our three-year-old. The restaurant was closed, and the bar only offered water in glasses. We didn’t want to risk that for a child because of possible alcohol contamination or hygiene concerns. Reception refused to give us a bottle and told us, “Go buy it from outside.” Sending a paying family out of the resort at night for safe drinking water was disgraceful. Earlier, after a long flight, we found that the AC in our room was broken. Reception ignored us for an hour. A technician then promised it would work in 30 minutes, but it never did. The room was over 30°C, and when I asked to change rooms, the clerk dismissed us, saying they were full and we’d have to wait until the next day. Our toddler had to sleep in a boiling, unventilated room, and none of us slept at all. The staff’s hostile attitude and lack of care ruined our holiday from London. They don’t speak English, only Arabic and a little French. The hotel has terrible infrastructure and aggressively unhelpful staff. I’d tell families to stay somewhere else.

This was a disappointing stay, nowhere near a 10 rating, and I didn’t even feel focused enough to take pictures. We came at the end of July 2025 for a surprise birthday treat for my daughter. I tried not to let my frustration show, but the problems kept piling up. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so we were sent to lunch. When we came back, it wasn’t the room I’d paid extra for. We moved, then waited again for the cleaner to finish. At reception later, there were so many people checking in that we went to sit down, only to find all the seats wet. We sat on our suitcase while we waited. It was nice to get a one-on-one greeting on arrival, but they should have checked my room. There were basic problems in the room too: the bathroom door wouldn’t close, the balcony door didn’t lock, there were stains on the beds, the remote controls were faulty, and the mini fridge door had no handle, so we had to pull it from the side. The lift wait would have made repeated trips downstairs frustrating. The air of service was also missing when I asked about an iron. I was told the cleaning team might bring one if they had one. I asked twice for a call and gave my room number, but after 30 minutes nobody called. When I went down about an hour later, the woman just smiled and didn’t apologize. I’d rather get a straight yes or no. The food was very limited, not all dishes were labelled, and my child ended up eating spaghetti bolognaise every day. Other children were putting their hands in the cheese. I pointed it out to one of the chefs. We had a language barrier, but she understood what I meant and just smiled. There was no control. I also didn’t see anything that felt all-inclusive, since everyone seemed to have the same privileges. Bar staff seemed selective about who got full cups and larger glasses. The water park was far too crowded for the size of the pool area, and I wouldn’t let my child use the main slide. This hotel looked good online, but it wasn’t for us. The issues matched reviews I’d seen on Google. I have over 20 years in management and customer service, and sometimes a simple yes or no would be better.
