La Maison De Tanger

The gardens felt like a lovely oasis in the middle of the city, and the roof terrace was a great spot to relax with views of the city and sea. Inside, the hotel’s artwork gave it a homely feel. Our room was comfortable and well appointed, and both the breakfast selection and our dinner on arrival were excellent. My wife and I had a lovely stay at this charming, comfortable hotel in Tangier. The staff were welcoming and created a relaxing ambience. It’s also well located for the main attractions and restaurants in Tangiers. Definitely recommend it.

We left early because of the terrible weather, but the hotel had disappointed us for several reasons. Our bedroom was gloomy, and the radiator was so loud, gurgling and banging all night that it disturbed our sleep. The mattress was thin and very hard, and the pillows were old and flat. Honestly, the place needs a full refresh. There were dead flowers in vases around the dining and reception areas, not the everlasting kind. It was cold and raining outside, so I had to ask for a fire in the lounge. The hotel needs some care and money spent on it.

Sandra was a pleasure to have as our hostess. She made us feel at home, helped us buy train tickets, suggested restaurants and sights, and surprised us with savory wine the next day when she found out it was our anniversary. We couldn’t have asked for more. After a hot, hectic 2 1/2-hour drive from Chefchaouen, my wife, daughter and I felt as if we’d entered another world. This charming boutique hotel sits in a quiet neighborhood in the heart of Rabat, within walking distance of the Medina. It’s serene and beautiful, with a relaxed interior, lush garden and lovely pool. Our sumptuous, comfortable room opened directly onto the garden. Breakfast was delicious, with eggs made to order, pastries, fruit and desserts.

A highlight was having a delicious traditional ftour for dinner, then a nightcap by the fire. The hotel was beautiful and comfortable, and all the staff were welcoming and helpful. They took time to chat with us and get to know us. I’m so glad I picked this place for our weekend trip to Morocco from Spain. Its location was perfect for walking to the Medina and other sightseeing spots.
