Le Meridien Beach Plaza

Our 11th-floor suite had a lovely view of Monte Carlo, and as an Ambassador Elite Member we were given plenty of space. The hotel also surprised us several times with champagne, panettone, and chocolates. My wife, our nine-year-old son, and I had a wonderful Christmas during our six-day stay. We'd just come back from a Christmas and New Year's trip around European and UK capitals, and were especially pleased we chose Le Méridien Plaza Hotel in Monaco. Ivan greeted us warmly at reception, and Inna took excellent care of us at breakfast. Really, the whole team, including the service staff, made us feel at home. Everything felt elegant, and people were always ready to help. Le Méridien Plaza is a top-tier hotel. We'll return for our holidays each year, and stay longer next time.

Francesco at reception found us a wonderful room with the best view he could, just as we'd hoped. It was huge, with a coffee machine, and the hotel felt more luxurious and spacious than anywhere we'd stayed before. Our bags were brought straight to the room, and the service was excellent throughout. We loved our two days here. When we visit Monaco again, we'll book that same room. Highly recommend it! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Direct access to the beach is what keeps bringing us back to Le Méridien in Monaco. It's genuinely hard to beat, and the renovated beach bar is lovely. The gym has improved a little over the years and is still quite okay. Food and drinks are decent, though the value is awful even by Monaco standards. A simple sandwich costs €20-30, while the very good pizzeria next door has a proper starter and main course for the same price. This was our third stay, and the hotel is passable, but it feels like it was built long ago and has been a gold mine for the owners without much reinvestment. The rooms are worn, the furniture shows its age, bathroom fixtures are dated, and seals hang from the balcony doors. The large AC units on the balconies are noisy too. Arriving is often a mess. The driveway gets crowded, valet parking is about three times the cost of the public garage across the street, and if you skip valet you're expected to move your car quickly. The lobby is nearly always packed, while the small reception team struggles with the flow. Service can be slow or hard to find, and breakfast turns chaotic, especially from September when corporate groups fill the hotel. As a Platinum member, the benefits are limited. Breakfast is included, but getting an upgrade takes persistence. We were told there was no availability several times, then after a few days managed to move to a bigger room, which I appreciated. The hotel may have seen better days, but with that beachfront location and the high prices, we'll probably still return. Without the beach, we'd likely have changed hotels long ago.

We especially liked eating at Le Cafe Lacoste, and Jerome was a wonderful server throughout the week. All the staff were lovely. The Mediterranean view is gorgeous, the location is perfect, and the service was excellent.
