Holiday Hotel

Super accessible to all the tourist spots, and a very nice place. Recommended! ;)

The hotel is really close to The Ruins and other Macau spots. There's a convenience store three houses down the corner and two bus stops nearby. We stayed last February and had three different rooms, each a different size, but all at the same price. The room I had with my partner was a good size, with good WiFi and an English TV channel. It had a window facing the streets, though one of the rooms picked up cigarette smoke from outside. We brought a personal air purifier, so no biggie, and we were out most of the day anyway. All in all, a good budget place for exploring the area.

041724 I came back for a second stay because this is the closest decent hotel to the Ruins of St. Paul and Senado Square. Location-wise, it's 5-star. Our room was clean and had all the toiletries, but service was very poor. The front desk staff weren't accommodating and spoke little English. There was no complimentary drinking water. I asked when booking whether there might be a birthday freebie or something, but no one replied or addressed it, and I didn't even get a greeting :(

The location is about the only good thing. McDonald's, 7-Eleven, and other shops are close by, as are bus stops, the Ruins of St. Paul, and Senado Square. Our room was tiny, with hardly any space for luggage, and the beds were very small too. The blankets had stains and the floor was pretty dirty when we arrived, with some food residue on it. The TV had no cable, mostly local channels we couldn't understand. Cigarette smoke lingered in the hallway, and noise from other rooms came right through. The front desk staff couldn't speak English. On the plus side, there were several power outlets in the room and the WiFi was pretty good, though it could get very slow in the evening.
