The host and the whole team were warm, welcoming and incredibly helpful. They helped us plan our journey and made the stay easier and more enjoyable. We ran into a few challenges while organizing the trip, and they were understanding, flexible and accommodating the whole way through. Our room was clean, comfortable and modern, with a lovely balcony and a beautiful view. The location was fantastic for exploring the area. Thanks to everyone for the great hospitality. We’d gladly stay again and recommend it to other travelers. Greetings from Greece! 🇬🇷

The place was quiet and peaceful, and about a 7 minute walk from most attractions in valetta. I rented a solo/double bed room in January for around 66 euros. I found it on the hostel world app, but saved about 10 euros by booking through their own website, so I’d suggest doing that. The host was great and shared tips on what to see; I ended up basing my whole trip on them. They send all the entrance info by whatsapp, so you can arrive at any hour and walk in. Check-in is listed as 3 pm, but rooms may be ready sooner. Mine was, so I checked in around noon. Otherwise, you can leave your luggage in the luggage room. There isn’t much of a common room, so the setup doesn’t offer much socializing. The place was clean, though, and the tiny bathroom wasn’t an issue for me as a solo traveller, despite the limited room to move around. They provided hot water, a heater, hair dryer, kettle and towels. Attached is a snapshot from 5 am before I left! I highly recommend staying here, as someone who’s stayed in multiple hostels around europe.

I’m turning 30 this year, and this may be my last hostel stay. It made for a fantastic grand finale, with a social vibe that made the trip so memorable. A huge thank you to Mr. Norbert Ellul, one of the kindest and most welcoming people you’ll meet. If you’re interested in Maltese culture, he’s the right person to talk to: kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Thanks for making my stay so incredible!

Before we even arrived, we got access to a whole database of excursions and activities around the city. In the mornings, we were greeted with a smile and a quick chat about what to do. My girlfriend and I had a great stay at Mandera’s Boutique Suites & Dorms, in a private room on the 1st floor. It felt more like a small boutique hotel than a hostel. A few streets down from Valletta’s Main Street, it was easy to get to the museums and cathedrals we wanted to see, and walk down to the ferry. The room had everything we needed: A/C, a TV, a comfortable bed and a mini-fridge. It was quaint, and the slight humid smell at first went away with regular use of the dehumidifier. We were pleasantly surprised to find drinks in the fridge and snacks on the table. Highly recommend if you’re travelling on a budget but still want hotel standards. We’ll definitely stay here again when we’re back in Valletta.

Norbert was very knowledgeable and gave us extra insight for our daily adventures. We really enjoyed our stay at Mandera’s, especially the hot tub room. The shared space was a nice spot for conversation, and the free purified water dispenser was a plus. Thank you!
