Beach Heaven Maldives - Golden Turtle Guest House

We had plenty of room and felt comfortable throughout our stay, with everything we needed. The staff were courteous and always willing to help. It’s a great-value find for anyone wanting to enjoy the Maldives’ beautiful beaches without spending too much.

The snorkeling trip arranged by the hotel was a great experience, and the staff were decent. Other parts of the stay were much less satisfying. Our room felt cramped, and the bed squeaked the whole time. When we mentioned it at reception, they seemed unconcerned and did nothing about it. Breakfast was included, but it was the same each day: egg and toast with butter and jam, fruit, pancakes, juice, and hot drinks. The pancakes tasted bitter, and even the mix seemed stale. There were very few choices, and I really think they should offer more. They also wouldn’t provide lunch or dinner, even when we asked and offered to pay. The beach dinner was a waste of money for us. The setup was fine, but there was no music, the complimentary photos and videos were blurry, and the food wasn’t good. Some dishes that looked appealing on the menu weren’t available when we asked for them, and the amount charged was huge. It was disappointing.

The staff were attentive and even helped us arrange excursions. The room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. For a laid-back beach getaway, this hotel was perfect, and it exceeded what I expected from a 3-star place.

The local food on Huraa was tasty, and the people there were friendly. We’d like to return to the Maldives someday, but we won’t go back to Beach Heaven. My wife and I stayed there on our honeymoon in November 2017, hoping for a taste of local life, and left very disappointed. Things may have improved since our visit, but at the time it was a terrible experience. Online photos had looked lovely, but our room didn’t live up to them. The attached bathroom door wouldn’t shut, and the Wi-Fi barely worked in the room. The towels by the toilet smelled as if they hadn’t dried properly, despite being arranged in a heart shape. Natasha, the manager, first said we could check out after 2.30pm, then later told us to leave before 1pm so the room could be prepared for the next guest. The Google profile manager also seemed to dismiss negative reviews by saying the profiles were fake. My wife received a reply like that too, claiming she hadn’t stayed there. That felt very unprofessional, and there’s a lot of room for improvement.
