I really liked the feel of this place and can recommend it. It’s a lovely little Hostel/Hotel close to the beach. My dorm room was spacious, the bed was super comfy, and I had my own terrace with a cute view. There’s AC, hot and cold water, and fresh coffee in the morning. The staff were super nice too. Thanks for a nice stay!

The listing’s photos and some of its description are for a completely different property. This hostel was recently “renovated,” but the facilities were rudimentary: cold showers, no toilet seat, and one ceiling bulb directly above a very loud fan, making a strobe effect. It was right outside a shared picnic table. Sean gave us free coffee at 7 am and offered us another guest’s hot shower, although that room was occupied. Two sweet dogs live on site, but one barks loudly at every stranger passing, at any hour. The beach is a 10-minute walk and the town centre is 15 minutes away. There are much better places closer to the beach for half the price. El Cuyo is special, but expect mosquitoes and bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.

I liked this clean, well-run hostel enough to come back and extend my stay. The beach and restaurants are both within walking distance. I’ll recommend it to friends.

I felt very safe here. The location is fabulous, and the place is clean, with lovely details in the shared room. It’s peaceful, the coffee is good, the common areas are shared, the shower has hot water, and the Wi-Fi works well. The price per night is more than reasonable. Miguel is a professional and attentive host. I want to come back.
