Suites de la Parra

The pool was small, but great for cooling off and big enough for kids. There was plenty of seating, though not much shade at midday, with just one umbrella for five chaise lounge chairs. Pool service was fantastic. Jorge looked after us all five days, working with Maricela in the kitchen. Jorge was a wonderful representative for the hotel, always a pleasure to talk with, and we enjoyed seeing him each day. Maricela was lovely too and cooked great food. The hotel's location gets especially bustling on weekends, but it's close to the market. For a quieter neighborhood, I'd look farther north near the botanical gardens. I'd definitely stay again. I found the hotel on TripAdvisor and booked directly. The room was as described and very comfortable, with a spacious, useful kitchenette, an extremely comfortable sofa that could be slept on, a fabulous bedroom air conditioner, a nice bathroom, and a TV that worked well with Netflix included. Someone was always at the front desk, and everyone was pleasant and in a good mood.

The location is great, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were lovely. But the bathroom in our room smelled strongly of sewage the entire stay, even after staff promptly resolved the water shutoff issue. If we left the bathroom door open by accident, the whole room smelled rotten, like a hot-day porta-potty. Unless they fix the plumbing, I probably wouldn't stay at Suites de la Parra again.

The rooftop view was incredible, and the deck has chaise lounges and a plunge pool. Breakfast is complimentary, the rooms get daily service, and bottled water and toiletries are provided. The place was very clean, in a great location, with friendly staff and working a/c. Just know there are stairs up to the rooms and no elevator.

Maria's breakfasts are delicious, and the staff are wonderful, especially Jorge, Maria, and the desk and serving team. It's hard to find a friendlier place to stay. We shared a suite with relatives, and the terrace and pool were wonderful. The kitchen could use a few more glasses, knives, and bowls.
