Club Regina Puerto Vallarta managed by Accor

We had a great time as a family, and the kids especially loved the pool games. Antonio, Mayra, Rosa, and Job were awesome, and we really enjoyed bingo and lotería. Ivan was a good pool server. A few other servers were hard to deal with when we asked for a menu.

We stayed four days in October 2025. The resort is right on the beach near Puerto Vallarta's marina, beside the Westin, and the beach access feels private and intimate. Location and staff were strong points, but the resort was noisy. The poolside afternoons were loud, with palm trees constantly being trimmed by gas-powered chainsaws. One afternoon, a worker at the Westin used a gas-powered weed-wacker for three hours by the shared chain-link fence. If managers coordinated noisy work to happen before noon, this place could rate five stars for its price, location, and staff. The restaurant is the exception. There are several buildings. Some rooms have ocean views for an extra charge, while garden- or marina-facing rooms are at the far back, a long walk away, so choose carefully. Maintenance workers re-sealed flower planters outside our room, and the sealant smelled so toxic that we had to leave for four hours. This started at 5:30 p.m. The front desk was sympathetic and brought a dehumidifier, which helped, but offered no other compensation. The front desk and concierge staff were otherwise outstanding and helpful, and they speak and understand English. The pool is lovely, with a swim-up bar and a poolside restaurant where the food was great. The main restaurant had problems with staff and management. On Thanksgiving Day they scheduled an evening buffet for over 950 pesos, about $53 USD, for anyone over three. We tried to negotiate a lower price, perhaps $35 each, but the manager refused. We went for tacos at a marina restaurant instead and split a plate for $25 USD. Later, I saw just one person at the resort buffet.

We spent nine days here and loved the peaceful pace, the spacious rooms and bathrooms, and the nice beach. Everyone, from the front desk to the room attendants, was smiling and helpful. Lunch at Tenampa Restaurant by the pool was excellent. Everything we ordered was delicious, and we'd happily order it again. The Tenampa staff were top notch. The Activity Team kept everyone entertained and were polite and patient. Kudos to Antonio, Job, Rosa, and Mayra. We'd come back if we get the chance. Keep up the good work!

The location is convenient, with easy access to the Marina, and the lobby staff were the best part of our two weeks at Club Regina I. Alberto and Daniel arranged taxis, gave us local outing advice, and booked our ride back to the airport. Alberto gave five-star service, and both of them helped make up for our poor experience at the front desk. Check-in was a mess. We arrived around noon and were told to return at 1:30 because the room wasn't ready. At 1:30, they sent us away again until 4. When I came back at 4, the stated check-in time, the room still wasn't ready. Ricardo said it might be 5 or even 6. I'd already waited four hours, and Carlos and Ricardo seemed to give me a different story each time. After I asked for the manager, I was again told to wait. When I reacted angrily, he offered another room that was ready. I shouldn't have had to get upset to get the room problem fixed. The front desk crew left me feeling jerked around. Both bathroom sinks had come loose from their countertops and needed repairs. Fixing the sink in one room took the whole day. We were told the workers would return in 40 minutes, but they showed up five hours later. Club Regina could use a facelift, and some staff didn't seem as focused on customer service as I'd expect.
