Hotel Sentral Pudu @ City Centre/Bukit Bintang

The night shift manager at checkout was the one good part of this stay. I don't know her name, but she listened, apologized, and treated me with real respect. It wasn't her fault, and she handled things well. Everything before that was very disappointing. We booked three days, but I had to arrive a day late and would only use two, even though I paid for the full stay. I work in hospitality under IHG and tried to explain this politely to Azwad at reception, starting with a greeting. I asked whether a better room or any other option was possible. He didn't seem to pay attention, then eventually asked, "what happened?" as if he hadn't heard me. His attitude felt unprofessional. The room was tiny and smelled bad, and there were no slippers, toothpaste, or toothbrush. On the second day I asked for drinking water twice, but nobody came even after 2-3 hours. Before leaving, I repeatedly told Azwad not to send anyone in to refill drinks or amenities because our luggage was open, with expensive watches, gold, and personal belongings inside. I was very clear, but his response still seemed careless and full of attitude. Something about his behavior felt very wrong. Service: -10/10 (Minus 10). The whole experience was poor, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel unless it makes major improvements.

The dispenser for drinking water and the ironing facilities are near the lift on each floor. The room was clean, with basic things like a mini-fridge and TV. It's about a 4-minute walk to Lalaport BBCC Mall, and although the hotel is in Pudu rather than the heart of Bukit Bintang, there are local restaurants and convenience stores nearby. If you're after a budget-friendly angel hotel around Bukit Bintang, Hotel Sental Pudu is a good option. Overall rating: 7/10

Update, 19/2/26: We arrived while breakfast was still being served, at 10:30AM. I had to ask for bread and a fried egg myself, rather than having staff serve us. There were no hot drinks, and most of the food was gone. It didn't seem fresh. When we made a request, the staff should have accepted it instead of arguing with us. My first review, 18/2/26: We came down late because we didn't know the breakfast hours. The staff were unfriendly and angry with us, and said we couldn't come in to ask for an omelet or an egg. We only wanted a fried egg to eat with bread, but he refused and had a bad attitude. We're customers. I'm never coming back.

The air conditioning wasn't very cold, even on the maximum setting, and the toilet was disgusting, with lots of moth flies that made it feel unhygienic. My first room, on the 15th floor, had no light above the bed, and the lights by the entrance and in the toilet weren't working. I asked to move to the 12th floor. That room was a little better, though it had twin beds because all the king rooms were full.
