OYO 762 TY Hotel

The room was clean and the staff were friendly. It’s near eateries, a dobby/laundry shop, and the main road to Pasar Payang and Draw Bridge.

For a budget hotel, the room was impressively clean. They’d cleaned it so thoroughly there wasn’t a spot of dust, and it felt wonderful underfoot. I’m impressed so far, and I hope they keep prioritizing cleanliness. That matters a lot, especially for families, and keeping it up should bring in more customers. My one suggestion is to offer a breakfast package, then it’d be perfect. Thanks for taking cleanliness seriously, it was unexpected at a budget hotel.

We ended up walking in after the other place we’d booked and paid for online was closed 😡. For RM150, we got a family room with 2 queen beds. The room and bathroom were clean, and the sheets and pillows smelled of fabric softener. The shower flow wasn’t very strong, but the value was great. All the staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful. There’s ample parking at the back, plus a cafe on the ground floor with a good selection. We had steamboat dinner there, and since it was raining, having the cafe and parking right there was really convenient.

The room size was acceptable, but the facilities made this feel more like a motel. There’s no mini fridge, no in-room phone to contact reception or management with questions, and no iron or board in the room. The iron and board are shared in the hallway, which is okay. The water heater is very noisy, and parking is quite limited. The hotel has an extra parking area, but I don’t think it can guarantee the safety of your vehicle. If you want a more hotel-like stay, I’d look elsewhere or consider another homestay. Terengganu and Kuala Terengganu obviously don’t have many decent hotel choices.
