Place2Stay - Airport

For what I paid, I expected very little, but the welcome was something else. I opened the door to find the cockroaches putting on what felt like a traditional welcome dance. They must have been waiting all morning for me. It made this solo traveller feel less alone for the night, and their hospitality was top notch.

The room smelled bad and was dirty. We couldn’t stay there, so we went looking for another hotel.

I’d booked online five days earlier, but at arrival they said the confirmation email hadn’t come through. The room itself wasn’t in good shape: the bathroom wasn’t maintained and the flush didn’t work, so I had to flush it by hand. The towels, sheets, and pillows were stained. There was no aircon remote in the room, and one of the lights was out. I’m not sure the condition of the rooms matters to them. I wouldn’t recommend it, since there are better places for even less.

We booked through Agoda, but the first room was dirty and had a cockroach on the bed. The counter offered another room, where we found an even bigger cockroach on the floor. They then suggested an upgrade, but that room still looked dirty. We cancelled and went to another hotel, though they were still going to charge us for one night because we had checked in. It was a bad experience, with very poor hygiene.
