Rembrandtplein Hotel

We were meant to stay three nights, but left after the first because the room was filthy. The bathroom was constantly wet and covered in mold, the tissue holder was rusty, and the dirty red carpet made me worry there might be bugs. I woke up with itchy skin, too. The stairs were steep, which was especially difficult since our room was on the third floor. The reception looks fancy and the photos make the place seem lovely, but the rooms are horrible. It felt like a waste of money. Don't go unless you're fine sleeping somewhere dirty.

The extra charges only showed up at checkout, buried in tiny print, so there was no transparency. The room was freezing, the heating didn't work, and the water stayed cold, making a shower nearly impossible. Staff were unfriendly and sometimes disrespectful, and I felt completely unwelcome. The older woman in particular seemed to spend the day sitting around and scolding guests, without any real task. This was a miserable stay, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

We only booked because we were desperate, then left the next day. The bed made me itch all over and I developed rashes. There was a terrible smell in both the hallways and rooms, black mold in the bathrooms, and loud noise from rooms above and below. There’s no lift, so carrying a large suitcase is a safety hazard. This was one of the worst places I've stayed anywhere in the world, and I can hardly believe it's still operating. The pictures cover things up. Travelers, be careful, you've been warned.

The bedding was really poor quality, and the heater didn't work. Management wouldn't cooperate, so we spent a sleepless night sitting on a chair and waiting for morning. It was a horrible experience. An expensive hotel with the worst service. Be careful about booking here.
