Hotel Access Nepal

There’s a restaurant at the top of the hotel, and the entrance passage has parking for three cars. A friend of mine stayed here for two nights. It’s centrally placed, and if you’re looking to stay in central Thamel for a reasonable price, this could be one of the better choices.

The bed, pillows, and quilt are comfortable, and I always sleep well here. This is my third visit to Nepal, and I keep choosing Access to Nepal. It isn’t a five-star, new, or fancy hotel, but the price is affordable, the rooms are clean, and the hot showers are reliable 24/7. The staff are kind and helpful. They stored our luggage safely for 14 days at no extra charge. When the refrigerator didn’t work or we needed ice, one phone call brought someone to help. The front desk is especially helpful, including Ram, whom I keep meeting and getting help from. Staff have also helped carry our luggage, and my trekking company and I sometimes leave things at the desk for each other to collect without setting a meeting time. Even the security guards help explain our location in Nepali to taxi drivers when we book through the Pathao App, which makes communication easier. Being in central Thamel makes it convenient for food and shopping, and there’s a convenience store where you can buy anything. There are also a few nearby bars, so you may hear music at night. Closing the window works for me, or earplugs are another solution.

Everything is close by here, from restaurants and shops to grocery stores, bars, pubs, and taxis. It’s probably the best location in Kathmandu. The owner is professional and clearly cares about giving guests good service. Our airport pickup went wrong because the driver seems to have mixed up the date or time, so we had to take a cab. The owner refunded the full taxi fare, which we hadn’t expected. The rooms are soundproof, so even with lively Thamel outside late at night, you can sleep well. The staff are friendly too. If you book, try to include breakfast. The English breakfast menu is enough to get the day started. It was my first stay here, but I’ll definitely be back.

Being right in the heart of Thamel made it easy to explore on foot, with everything nearby. I stayed one night at Hotel Access Nepal and felt well cared for throughout. The front-desk staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to help. When my Indian cards caused problems in Nepal, I appreciated that they accepted GPay. I highly recommend it for the central location and good service.
