Hotel Roadhouse, Thamel, Kathmandu- Contemporary Boutique

Music from the bars nearby carried on late, until around 2 or 3 a.m., and the street outside my room was noisy. Someone was shouting in the corridor around midnight. I slept for only an hour or two before getting up for an early flight. After trekking, I switched to another quiet hotel and cancelled my remaining nights here.

The room was clean and had a nice atmosphere, and the staff were helpful and courteous. Before booking, I checked with the manager, Santos, about a complimentary airport shuttle and was told it was available. After I booked, I learned it was only offered after 6 p.m., outside my time frame. In the end, though, the manager kindly arranged it, and I was pleased. This place is a little gem in Thamel, Kathmandu. There’s also a popular bookshop nearby worth checking out.

The staff made me feel genuinely welcome, from the restaurant and housekeeping teams to the security guards at the door. Their attentiveness made me feel cared for throughout my first trip to Nepal. The Thamel location was hard to beat. Markets, cafes, local shops, and many tourist attractions were all walkable, so exploring KTM was easy and enjoyable. This place played a big part in making the trip unforgettable. I’d love to stay here again, or at another hotel in the same brand, on my next visit.

There’s plenty nearby, including restaurants, cafes, shops, a convenience store, and a money exchange just a few steps away. Everything is within walking distance from this hotel in central Thamel, Kathmandu, which made my trip easy. The staff were attentive and very friendly, always ready to help with a smile. Music from the ground floor could get a bit loud, though it wasn’t a big issue for me. A great choice if you want the lively center with essentials close by.
