Kantipur Village

We really enjoyed our stay and felt at home. The clean room, good food, and ambience were lovely, and the staff were warm and professional. Everyone who looked after us deserves our heartfelt thanks, especially for the care and kindness they showed. The rooftop has a nice feel, with soft music, polite staff, and WiFi that actually works. In my room the WiFi rarely worked, which was incredibly frustrating when I was trying to use my laptop, so I used an eSIM for my phone instead. The room was fairly clean and quiet, the bed comfortable, the shower warm, and the staff kind.

The people are what make Kantipur Village special. They remember your name, what you need, and where you’re headed, and do what they can to help. It feels like being welcomed as family. I’ve had several happy days here, and this was my second stay, after also coming last year following the Manaslu Circuit. It’s a great base in Kathmandu, close to the heart of Thamel and Durbar Square but tucked on a quiet street. The design is thoughtful and stylish, the rooms very comfortable, and both breakfast and the new coffee shop are great. Walking back into the lobby and seeing those friendly, smiling faces was such a joy. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here.

The atmosphere gives a real sense of Nepali culture, which made the visit feel especially meaningful. From our arrival, the team at Kantipur village greeted us with warmth and genuine care. They were attentive and went out of their way to make us comfortable, without ever feeling intrusive. Every interaction felt heartfelt, as if hospitality were a deeply held value rather than just a service. A memorable experience. I’d highly recommend it for the comfort, care, and welcoming, home-like feel.
